DEFUNCT meetings that no longer exist are kept on the website for a time for informational purposes. When signing in on the Zoom app, use Sign in with SSO and enter "viu" as your domain to log in using your VIU account. Currently the Wednesday OA HOW meeting at St Petes is the only meeting that is in this category. This account type gives your access to all of the available features and allows you to host meetings with up to 100 participants with no time limit. New accounts are Licensed accounts by default. EmployeesĪll VIU employees can set up a Zoom account by logging in with their VIU Computer Account.
Students may wish to use just their first name or a pseudonym (agreed upon with the meeting host prior to the meeting) when joining to limit the personal information gathered by Zoom. When joining a Zoom meeting as a participant the display name enter will be stored as part of the meeting record on Zoom's Canadian servers.
Participants using an older version of Zoom may be required to update their app before joining a meeting. Zoom is a free app on Mac, PC, iOS, and Android. To experience the full features of a Zoom meeting, we recommend that everyone download the Zoom app. Students do not need a Zoom account to join a meeting.
